Lindsay & Josh: A Gilded Bride Story

Lindsay & Josh: A Gilded Bride Story

Each and every detail in Lindsay & Josh’s wedding is just delightful! Her floral earrings! His floral tie! The simple elegance of her Leanne Marshall gown! The PURE JOY on their faces! And did we mention…DOUGHNUTS! Lindsay is near and dear to our heart, as we have gotten to know her not just as a #gildedbride, but also as an integral part of the Southern Bride and Groom team.  In fact, the day Lindsay found her dress with us was the day she got the job at SB&G! We are just tickled pink to share her gorgeous day, and to wish Lindsay and her husband bon voyage on their life of adventure together.

GILDED: How did you and your spouse meet?

LINDSAY: We met in college at CU Boulder. He took sign language with my sister and was a few
years older than me. He graduated and joined the Marine Corp and ended up on the
East Coast. When I graduated I moved back East and we’ve been doing life together
ever since!

GILDED: What did you love most about your wedding celebration? What are some of your
favorite details or special moments?

LINDSAY: I loved that everything was completely us. If we weren’t going to elope, we were
going to have the wedding our way. We had brunch for dinner, non-traditional vows,
no family traditions – just us celebrating our lives together with our friends and
family there to join in! Maybe one of my favorite things was that Josh actually hand-made our ceremony arch. He and his brother spent an entire weekend creating it from scratch and it’s now becoming a vine wall for our porch.

GILDED: Did you have a honeymoon? Where did you go and what was your favorite part?

LINDSAY: We took off for a 10 day trip to Italy! We traveledfrom city to city – eating every
pasta dish and drinking basically every bottle of wine they have. My favorite part
was staying at this little villa in Chianti. We were THE ONLY people staying those
days and had the entire property to ourselves. It was a once in a lifetime experience!

GILDED: What advice do you have for brides looking for their wedding dress?

LINDSAY: GO TO GILDED BRIDAL! But actually – I was so nervous because once I realized the
dress I thought I wanted my entire life didn’t actually look good on me – I didn’t
have a clue what I wanted AT ALL. Susan helped me for literal hours and dozens of
dresses until I found the one I wanted. I never once felt rushed, judged or like a
nuisance. It was actually my favorite part of wedding planning for sure!
