Can you tell that we’re a tad behind on blogging? It’s been busy bridal season here at Gilded, meeting so many new #gildedbrides! But we’ve been dreaming of Molly and Ian’s stunning Lake Tahoe wedding since these pics showed up in our inbox last year, and we are just thrilled to finally share this gorgeousness with you! Molly was the sweetest epitome of the Gilded Bride – you know, the bride who breathes a sigh of happiness when she opens the door to our shop, because she’s found her place to relax and be herself amid the madness of wedding dress shopping. She is why we are here, doing what we do – for Molly and all of our other amazing Gilded Brides. Molly is epic in her Alexandra Grecco Miri gown and her ethereal headpiece from Twigs & Honey – and that SCENERY! Booking my trip to Lake Tahoe as we speak… Enjoy y’all!

GILDED: How did you and your spouse meet?
MOLLY: We met our second semester of senior year at Cornell. We actually had the same group of mutual friends since our freshman year but somehow never spent time together until college was almost over! It’s funny how timing is everything… I felt instantly drawn to Ian the first time we talked and he’s had my heart ever since.
GILDED: What did you love most about your wedding celebration? What are some of your
favorite details or special moments?
MOLLY: One of the things I loved the most is that we booked the Coachman Hotel in its entirety, so all of our guests stayed in the same place. It felt like we were on one giant family vacation (my nieces even woke us up in the mornings!) – people were able to see each other over breakfast, grabbing a drink in the lobby, or sitting by the fire pits. A few other things I loved: the first time I saw my mom when we arrived at the hotel late at night and her huge smile and hug; my dad surprising me by learning a choreographed dance to teach me for our father-daughter dance! Seeing Ian for the first time on the morning of our wedding and him holding my shaking hands; seeing all of the laughing and happy faces of our loved ones; our ring warming ritual during our ceremony where our guests passed our wedding bands around and said a personal blessing/wish for us so that when we exchanged our rings they were charged with love and support; the strength of my dad as he walked me down the aisle; the way my brother’s looked at me with so much love as I walked down the aisle (and the whole weekend!); how beautiful everything looked from all our hard work; mine and Ian’s first dance as husband and wife; and finally dancing with all our friends as it sprinkled on and off under twinkle lights and the stars – I’ve never felt happier! Our wedding day was truly magical.
GILDED: Did you have a honeymoon? Where did you go and what was your favorite part?
MOLLY: We didn’t take a full honeymoon yet, but we did take a few days in Ojai, CA to relax as a newly married couple! I felt so at peace after our wedding and so full of love. It made those few days in Ojai extra special. My favorite part was just being with Ian and being fully present and enjoying every second!
GILDED: What advice do you have for brides looking for their wedding dress?
MOLLY: Definitely don’t choose your dress based on what you “think” you should want. Try to have an open mind and try a bunch of styles! I tried on a bunch of dresses that I expected myself to like only to end up with a totally unexpected gown! Listen to your heart and your instincts and go with what makes you feel like the incredible bride you are!
