Lauren & Evan: A Gilded Bride Story

Lauren & Evan: A Gilded Bride Story

When we tell you about our cool, down-to-earth brides with all the style…well, Lauren definitely is one of our awesome brides who comes to mind! From her hand painted little animals holding place cards, to the bottom of THOSE SHOES (seriously…did you see the shoes?) to her fabulous choice to rock cool kid Elizabeth Dye‘s Dunaway gown, we have been swooning over Lauren’s style and creativity since she walked in to Gilded. But you know what really melted our hearts? Those pictures of Lauren and Evan’s sweet pup! We just love that they included their dog in the celebration! We caught up with Lauren after her stunning wedding to get her answers on the #gildedbride questionnaire, and we are excited to share her thoughts along with these stunning images from her Haw River Ballroom wedding. The love is palpable here, and we couldn’t be happier for our Gilded Bride Lauren and her new husband Evan!

GILDED: How did you two meet?

LAUREN: Our mutual friend, the internet

GILDED: What did you love most about your wedding celebration? What are some of your favorite details or special moments?

LAUREN: We were so overwhelmed by all of the family and friends that attended, and loved being able to have them all in one place partying and dancing the night away. We also loved that our pup, Beryl, was able to be part of the celebrations.

GILDED: Did you have a honeymoon? Where did you go and what was your favorite part?

LAUREN: We had more of a “stay-cation,” but in the Virginia mountains. It was a great way to relax and destress after the constant planning and organizing. Also, the first night there was the Super Moon TM.

GILDED: What advice do you have for brides looking for their wedding dress?

LAUREN: Go Gilded.

Also for brides that have a little extra – don’t let the process overwhelm you. If you like a dress aesthetically, but they don’t have your size to try on – trust the process and the staff to help shape your vision. Choose a place that makes you feel comfortable through and through.  And then give yourself ample time with a seamstress to get it perfect.
