How did you and your spouse meet?

We met in college through our roommates. He went to NC State and I went to UNC. House divided!

What did you love most about your wedding celebration? What are some of your favorite details or special moments?

We had the best day just being surrounded by so much love. One of our favorite moments was our first dance under the oak trees overlooking the waterway. Of course dancing the night away with all of our guests was so much fun, we didn’t want it to end.

Before trying on dresses, what did you think your dress would look like? How does that compare to what you ended up wearing?

I was dead set that the dress I picked would be simple, no lace, and not strapless. Boy was I wrong. The dress I chose and fell in love with was strapless, had lace and tulle, and was totally unexpected for me. I loved it so much!

What advice do you have for brides currently planning their wedding?

Don’t get caught up in worrying about pleasing other people. Yes, you want everyone to have an amazing time, but ultimately it is you and your partners day to spend how you both choose!

Were there any traditions you bucked for your wedding? What did you do instead and how did it go?

One of the best decisions we made was not having a bridal party! We had our crew of people still get ready with us and go on our Bach trips with us, but we only had our siblings stand up with us during the ceremony. This took away some stress from our friends and allowed them to have a better view during the wedding. It also made our ceremony more focused on us two.
